Meet Your Speaker

Nashlea Brogan knows what it means to lose something most of us take for granted. Diagnosed with progressive hearing loss as a teenager, she has spent decades navigating the emotional, relational, and cognitive challenges that come with hearing decline — first with hearing aids, and later with cochlear implants. That lived experience, combined with a career dedicated to brain health and hearing care, gives her a perspective that is equal parts science and story.

Her TEDx talk, How Hearing Loss Could Be Impacting Your Relationships, has reshaped the conversation on aging, hearing, and brain health. She has spoken across Canada and internationally to both the public and professionals.

Founder of Still Listening and Bluewater Hearing & Balance, Nashlea is a lifelong advocate for hearing and connection. She is a vibrant advocate for preventive hearing health, working to raise awareness about the impact of hearing loss on relationships, cognitive health, and overall well-being. On September 17th, she brings that message to Essex County.
